A Queensland police officer has been charged with 38 criminal offences relating to drug supply, inappropriately accessing a police database and weapon possession.

The 25-year-old constable was charged following a joint investigation between the state's corruption watchdog and the Queensland Police Ethical Standards Command.

They were charged on Friday with more than 30 drug offences including possession and supply.

The matter was first identified by Queensland Police before being referred to the Crime and Corruption Commission with the investigation focused on allegations of drug use.

Investigators also allege the officer "inappropriately accessed the police database, stole police property and committed a firearm offence".

Further charges include computer hacking, stealing and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The alleged offending posed a corruption risk, CCC chairman Alan MacSporran said.

"Apart from the potential work, health and safety issues of working in a front-line policing role in the days after consuming drugs, any officer involved in this type of conduct leaves themselves open to be compromised by criminals or other associates who have the knowledge that the officer is involved in the purchasing, supplying and consuming of illegal drugs," he said.

"This is a corruption risk and I urge police officers who may be considering personal drug use to consider the ramifications of engaging in illegal activity, no matter how minor or trivial they may think it is."

The constable was released on bail to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 19.
