Qld murder probe says more may be involved

Police say others may have been involved in the death of Queensland woman Krishna Chopra. (AAP)

Other people may be involved in the death of a Queensland woman, police say as they renew a public appeal for information.

The body of Krishna Chopra, 61, was found at her home at Crows Nest in the Darling Downs, north of Toowoomba on January 31.

Police believe she was killed around January 20, at least 10 days before her remains were discovered.

Simon Jones, 33, has been charged with murdering his mother-in-law but police are not convinced he acted alone.

"There may be at least one other person involved in her death," Detective Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker said on Tuesday.

"That is a matter which we continue to move forward with."

Det McCusker said the investigation was ongoing and that Ms Chopra's daughter had cooperated with the investigation.

"We are very very confident that the person we have charged is responsible for her death," he said.

"There could be somebody else involved, and that's a line of inquiry which we're now following up."

Police have not revealed the cause of Ms Chopra's death as the focus returns to a metal bar found just 100 metres from her home.

Police divers found the torsion bar in a dam at the Crows Nest Golf Club, and investigators are trying to determine whether it is linked to Ms Chopra's death.

"We're looking to whether this is connected to her death or whether it has been discarded into the dam through someone merely walking across the golf course or even playing golf who may have thrown into the dam," he said.

Charges against Jones will return to court in May.
