Qld man 'repeatedly drove over woman'

A Queensland man faces an attempted murder charge after allegedly running over a woman repeatedly. (AAP)

A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly driving over a woman repeatedly in his car.

Police say the incident started when the 27-year-old did a burnout in his Nissan Patrol in the backyard of a home in Caboolture, north of Brisbane, just after 11pm on Saturday.

When a 47-year-old woman came out to confront him, he drove over her multiple times, leaving her with significant injuries to her left leg and foot.

Police say the driver and his alleged victim were known to each other.

The man also drove over property and rammed a car during the attack.

A 42-year-old woman at the same address stopped the man by ramming his vehicle with another car.

The man, from Moonee in NSW, escaped through the window of the heavily damaged vehicle and ran off. He was arrested nearby soon after.

The woman is in Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with serious injuries but her life is not at risk.

The man escaped injury, and will face Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.

The incident occurred just hours after a shooting left two men dead in Caboolture on Saturday afternoon, just a 10-minute drive away.
