A Queensland removalist has faced court on child exploitation charges after a tip-off from US authorities.
Cal William Meehan appeared in a Brisbane court on Thursday after being arrested at a home in Gailes, southwest of Brisbane, on January 28.
Australian Federal Police arrested the 35-year-old after being tipped off by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States.
The NCMEC said someone was allegedly uploading child abuse material using a Google account in Queensland.
Police found two laptops, an iPad and numerous USBs, allegedly containing child abuse material at Meehan's home, the AFP said in a statement.
Three mobile phones and two external hard drives were also seized.
Meehan was charged with three counts of possessing child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service and six counts of possessing child exploitation material.
He was also charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a butterfly knife and one count of having an unregistered vehicle.
Meehan is not allowed to contact or approach any person under the age of 16, unless in the presence of a person who is at least 16 years old, according to court documents.
He is expected to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on May 20.
