Qld man charged with child stealing

A Queensland man has been charged with child stealing after an 11-month-old girl was allegedly taken from a home in Yeppoon.

Police issued an alert on Tuesday night seeking public assistance to find the man and baby girl known to him.

The pair were found "safe and well" by officers overnight.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with one count of child stealing and several other offences in relation to incidents on the same night.

He is expected to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
