Qld DV-accused 'hid in woman's bed frame'

A man will appear in a Queensland court charged with strangling and stalking a woman. (AAP)

A man allegedly returned to a mother's home and hid inside the base of her bed two days after he assaulted her in a domestic violence attack at the same home in southeast Queensland.

Police allege the 33-year-old man forced entry into the woman's Ipswich home on Tuesday before he seriously assaulted her.

Neighbours heard the disturbance at the home and intervened, which caused the man to flee.

The woman took the opportunity to escape before calling police, who took her and her children to safety.

Detectives then noticed the man's car parked a few blocks away from the woman's home about 11am on Thursday.

Police went into her home and allegedly found the man hiding inside the base of the woman's bed.

He has been charged with nine domestic violence related offences including three counts of contravening a domestic violence order, two counts of burglary and committing an indictable offence, deprivation of liberty, strangulation, unlawful stalking and entering dwelling with intent.

He was denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday.
