QB Russell Wilson lands on NFL.com All-Paid Team of Tomorrow

Analysts for NFL.com recently released their 2019 All-Paid Team which highlighted players currently setting the market at each position. With some big contracts likely to come in the near future, it’s time to take a look at tomorrow’s highest paid in the league.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tops the list, projected to garner $34 million per year in average annual value.

“Wilson should be ending Rodgers’ reign as the NFL’s highest-paid player soon,” writes Anthony Holzman-Escareno. “Wilson’s 75 career wins are the most in a player’s first seven seasons in NFL history. Since he entered the NFL in 2012, only Tom Brady has more regular-season and playoff wins than Wilson, whose 100.3 career passer rating is also the second-highest in NFL history, behind Rodgers’ mark of 103.1.”

Wilson has already set a deadline of April 15 for Seattle to agree to new contract terms before further negotiations end this year. With just days to go, but both sides have remained silent as to the progress of the discussions.

“Entering negotiations in 2015, when he signed his current four-year extension, Wilson had been, to that point in his career, propped up by a strong run game and the NFL’s best defense,” Holzman-Escareno continues. “Fast-forward to 2019, and there may not be a player more valuable to his team’s success than Wilson.”

This is a sentiment likely shared by the Seahawks, who will undoubtedly find a way to ensure Wilson stays in Seattle and makes the All-Paid Team of the future.
