QB Russell Wilson and WR Tyler Lockett form elite partnership

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver Tyler Lockett are quickly becoming the duo to watch in the NFL this season.

Against the Buccaneers Week 9, Wilson and Lockett combined for two touchdowns and a magical performance on the field. Wilson threw for 378 yards and five scores on Sunday and Lockett finished the day as Seattle’s leading receiver with 13 receptions on 18 targets for 152 yards and the two TDs.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll isn’t taking the pair for granted.

“I can’t even explain or describe it or whatever, other than to just kind of marvel and watch it and have fun watching these guys play the game,” Carroll said in his postgame press conference. “They are extraordinary players. And we’re so lucky that they have kind of grown up together. The benefit of all that time. The marvelous connection that they have is as good as you can get. It’s just a joy to watch them play and practice and work, and just hope we can have another good game next week.”

After his Week 9 outing, Wilson remains firmly in the race for this season’s Most Valuable Player and Lockett is sneaking up on a team milestone, on pace to break the single-season franchise record for receptions and yards. For his efforts against Tampa Bay, Lockett was named Seahawks Wires’ Player of the Game.
