QB Kyler Murray wins 5th NFC Offensive Player of the Week

After getting snubbed for player of the week honors after he had four touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in a Week 1 38-13 win over the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is this week’s NFC Offensive Player of the Week. It is the fifth time he has won player of the week honors.

Murray had 400 passing yards, three touchdown passes and rushed for a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 34-33 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 at State Farm Stadium.

He wins the award over Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who passed for 276 yards and five touchdowns without an interception in Week 2.

In just 34 career games, Murray has tied Kurt Warner for the most player of the week honors in franchise history. He won it three times last season and once as a rookie in 2019.

With seven touchdown passes and a pair of rushing touchdowns, no one has more combined touchdowns than Murray this season.

The season is young, but it has the appearance of what will be a special season for the young quarterback.
