QB Kyler Murray has bulked up to over 200 pounds before NFL combine

The NFL draft prospect that is generating the most buzz is quarterback Kyler Murray. The 2018 Heisman Trophy winner is an exciting player. However, he is undersized for his position and that raises many concerns.

He is short for the position and also slight. However, according to Peter King, Murray will weight in at the combine at over 200 pounds, which will please NFL teams considering him.

King writes that Murray is up to 206 pounds.

A classic build for a quarterback is 6-3 or taller and at least 220 pounds. Murray will measure somewhere around 5-10 and perhaps 210 if he continues to add weight.

To compare, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is 5-11 and weighs 215 pounds.

Some believe the Arizona Cardinals might consider Murray with the first overall pick. If he is not only short but also small, it will raise concerns about his ability to withstand the physical toll of being hit by defenders over the course of a season.

If he weighs in at 210 or more in addition to showing his movement skills, he might shoot up a number of team’s draft boards.
