Vikings should benefit from QB-hungry teams in draft

The Vikings aren’t in the market for a quarterback in the first round, with Kirk Cousins under contract for the next two seasons.

But that doesn’t mean the quarterbacks in the draft class won’t help the Vikings.

It seems likely we’ll see Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock (in no order) go in the first round of the draft. We could even see Will Grier sneak in.

Depending on where they go, the Vikings could be candidates for teams looking to trade up in the draft if any of those five are available at No. 18. That includes the Raiders at No. 24 and 27, the Chargers at No. 29 and the Patriots at No. 32. It also wouldn’t be wild to see a team at the high end of the second round (Raiders, Jaguars or Buccanneers) try to find a trade partner.

Even if the Vikings don’t make a trade, with more quarterbacks selected before them, it will only knock down offensive linemen for the Vikings to choose from.

Only four more days. Buckle up!
