QB Deshaun Watson makes brief appearance at Texans’ practice

Deshaun Watson, the estrange quarterback of the Houston Texans, made a brief appearance during Thursday’s practice at the Houston Methodist Training Center. Watson took part in a 45-minute individual work on the rehabilitation field — alongside teammates Marcus Cannon and Lane Taylor. Thursday marked the first time Watson appeared at practice in a week.

Despite missing the last seven days, Texans’ coach David Culley said Tuesday morning that the three-time Pro Bowler has been working behind closed doors.

“Deshaun is here,” Culley said “Every day he comes in and works. He does what we ask of him, and he is doing fine. Each day we have a [schedule] for him, and we got done what we needed to get done on yesterday.”

Watson’s trade request from late January is still active, as is his pending litigation as a defendant in a lawsuit wherein 22 women have alleged sexual assault.
