QB coach details Mac Jones’ ‘productive paranoia’ that keeps him sharp

Work ethic isn’t something the New England Patriots will have to worry about with No. 15 overall pick, Mac Jones.

The Alabama product rose up from the bottom of the roster in college to finish his final season with 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns — while winning a National Championship. He’s already translating his skills and grit into the NFL by creating a quarterback competition with Cam Newton.

Jones has been unique in his process to improve and quarterback coach David Morris noted this ahead of the NFL draft.

“With great competitors and people that are successful, there’s a sense of productive paranoia. … I think that’s what Mac has,” Morris said on NFL Network.

Bill Belichick has given his high praise for Jones and it’s clear that his teammates and coaches feel the same. Time will tell, but the early sign lead toward a successful future for Jones with the Patriots.
