QB Brett Hundley to return to Cardinals in 2020 on one-year contract

The Arizona Cardinals have solidified their quarterback situation. The team announced Sunday morning they agreed to terms on a contract with quarterback Brett Hundley, the team’s backup last season.

Hundley had limited playing time last season, appearing in three games, playing in a total of 40 snaps.

He completed 5-of-11 passes for 49 yards. He also ran the ball seven times for 41 yards. He finished the Cardinals victory against the Seattle Seahawks on the road after Kyler Murray left the game with an injured hamstring.

Hundley enters his sixth season in the league. He played for the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks and now the Cardinals. He was a standout quarterback in Arizona in high school, playing at Chandler High. He is one of several hometown players now on the Cardinals roster.

He will be the Cardinals’ No. 2 quarterback, while Drew Anderson and Chris Streveler will presumably battle for a third spot on the roster.
