A bid has been made by the chairman of one of the biggest banks in Qatar for Manchester United, as Liverpool’s future remains uncertain.
The owners of both the Reds and Man United have remained open to further investment ever since the latter months of 2022. Fenway Sports Group released their statement in November, detailing their desire to seek further investment, while the prospect of a full sale was not ruled out.
Since then, there has been plenty of speculation over what the future will hold for Liverpool. Recent reports have suggested that an offer could come from Qatar, but that now seems unlikely given the latest update.

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the chairman of one of Qatar’s biggest banks QIB, has submitted an official bid for Man United. The offer has been sent to the Raine Group, who are overseeing the sale process on behalf of the Glazer family.
Al Thani, the son of former Qatari prime minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, confirmed the bid with a statement on Friday night. It was stated that interesting parties had until 10pm UK time to submit an offer for the Old Trafford club.
“The bid plans to return the Club to its former glories both on and off the pitch, and – above all – will seek to place the fans at the heart of Manchester United Football Club once more,” a statement from Al Thani said in the Financial Times.
“The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training centre, the stadium and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the Club supports.’
“The vision of the bid is for Manchester United Football Club to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world.
“More details of the bid will be released, when appropriate, if and when the bid process develops.”
