Qatar has registered its first four cases of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, the Health Ministry revealed on Friday.
It said that the four infected people were Qataris and residents who had returned from abroad, adding that they were in quarantine.
"Three of the individuals had received two COVID-19 vaccine doses, with the second dose administered more than six months ago. One individual was unvaccinated," the Ministry noted in its official statement.
The Ministry further urged all members of the community to play their part in the fight against COVID-19.
It stressed the importance of getting vaccinated and tested if signs of COVID-19 are suspected, calling on everyone to abide by all COVID-19 precautionary measures.
