The reinvention of the Olympics is allowing new countries to make their Winter Games debuts.
One of those is Qatar, which is sending an athlete to the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games beginning in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday.
It is all thanks to a new form of hockey and a thriving expat league in the desert nation.
