Eternals, the latest addition to Marvel’s ever-expanding cinematic universe, was officially released in theaters this week and it has made a powerful impact on the franchise and the movie industry as a whole. Aside from introducing a gay superhero, Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), who kisses his husband on-screen, the studio’s casting of Lauren Ridloff as Makkari gave Marvel its first deaf superhero.
“It felt about time,” Ridloff told For The Win on Friday.
Ridloff took us behind the scenes, including what it was like working with the high-profile celebrity who makes a cameo in the film’s post-credits scene, and brought us inside heartfelt meetings during the creation of the Eternals in her Q&A with For The Win.
