What is your idea of perfect happiness?
To finish installing an exhibition a day or two before the opening.

What is your greatest fear?
That the US aluminium company Alcoa is destroying the Icelandic highlands with the support of our government.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Lack of responsibility in life.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
The same.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?
When a priest asked me if I knew what copulating meant. I was 14.

What objects do you always carry with you?
My organ donor card.

What is your favourite fantasy?
That museums were radical.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?,BR> I often look like I don't care what people talk to me about, but I do - I'm just easily distracted.

What is your most unappealing habit?
Looking away when being talked to.

Do you believe in monogamy?
Yes.

Which living person do you most despise?
Our adoption case worker for being so slow.

What is your greatest regret?
Not finding a proper lung donor for my dying father.

When and where were you happiest?
Tomorrow, when what I'm doing now is over.

How do you relax?
Watching Mike Leigh movies.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
That the 12 richest people in the world share their fortunes with the two billion poorest.

Do you believe in life after death?
No - not at the moment, at least.

How would you like to be remembered?
As the person who predicted the annihilation of the planet by a meteorite.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That everything can change.

· Olafur Eliasson was born in 1967 in Denmark, to Icelandic parents. After studying at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen, he became a professional artist and has had numerous exhibitions worldwide. He is best known for his installations using natural materials such as light, water, fire, wind and ice. His work The Weather Project is on show in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern until March 21 2004. He is married and lives in Berlin.
