Puzzling new Glasgow-themed board game to launch this year

A new Glasgow-themed board game is being released in September, and judging by the incredible cover alone, we are a little puzzled as to what it will involve.

The cover for the game depicts what looks like an 18th century period flat-capped Glaswegian drinking a brew from the vantage point of the Necropolis overlooking Glasgow Cathedral.

According to board game website Brettspiel News, Glasgow is a new two-person novelty game being released from Lookout Games, aimed at ages 10 and over.

Set in the 18th century, players take on the role of traders as they travel round the city collecting resources and constructing buildings and try to be as successful as possible.

Players move their characters around the board collecting contracts and resources (such as brick, steel, or money) to enable them the build the likes of factories, monuments and train stations - while making use, if they wish, of the river (ie the River Clyde) to help them do so.

The game ends as soon as the 16th building is built, with the players receiving points for all that they created and the winner being the one who has contributed most to the state of Glasgow.

We are curious to give it a go when it gets released!
