Here's how some fans reacted to Ampadu's performance

When he was unveiled as Chelsea's new boss, Lampard was keen to stress the importance of giving youngsters a chance in his set-up, something he acted upon during his time with Derby County.

Now aged 18, Ampadu is one of the most exciting young players Welsh football has seen for a number of years, and Lampard could be the perfect man to bring out the best in the teenager and further his development at club level.

In Dublin, Lampard then opted to make a full 11 changes for the second half. You can follow live updates from the game here.
