Pussycat Dolls spark 68 Ofcom complaints over raunchy Saturday Night Takeaway performance

The Pussycat Dolls' Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway performance has sparked outrage - with Ofcom hit by an outpouring of complaints.

Since airing on Saturday (February 22), the band's performance has come under fire for its raunchy dancing and risque costumes.

Ofcom revealed  it had received 68 complaints from angry viewers.

Ahead of the girl band's routine, celebrity guest Camila Cabello announced it would be "a family-friendly, nothing-to-complain-about performance at the end of the show".

During the routine, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, 41, and her four bandmates were seen dancing and gyrating in revealing outfits.

But it didn't take long before Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly interrupted the performance.

They jokingly ran on stage to push a giant red 'censor button', with Dec saying: "No, no, stop that."

The cheeky Geordie duo then began using 'censored' signs to block out parts of the performance.

But shortly after, they started stripping off themselves in a hilarious stint.

In a bid to cover up the girls a bit more, Ant and Dec offered each band member an item of their clothing to wear.

The American five-some ignored the pair and tore down a sign that read, "Sorry for the disruption. We're working hard to fix the issue and will return to normal family friendly, not at all sexy, uncontroversial programming soon."

By the end of the three-and-a half-minute  performance, Ant and Dec were left on stage in just their vests, boxers, socks and shoes.

Despite the complaints, many viewers were amused by the skit.

One fan tweeted: "The @pussycatdolls are ACTUAL legends for being such good sports on #SaturdayNightTakeaway tonight!!

Another commented: "Thank you to the universe for this @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

A third remarked: "One of the best end of the show shows i've ever seen #AntAndDec #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

"So glad it's back #SaturdayNightTakeaway," another wrote.

A fifth agreed: "Hahaha Dec telling her to put her leg down #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
