Beauty products are among the subjects portrayed in Andy Warhol's works. The pop-art legend also expressed his views on beauty while celebrating diversity based on the notion that everyone is beautiful.
Sharing the same philosophy, SK-II has partnered with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts for a limited-edition of the brand's bestselling Pitera Essence.
"We are constantly decoding pop culture to connect with consumers of this generation -- especially millennials and Gen Z," said GaYoon Jung, senior brand director of Global SK-II. "The Andy Warhol X SK-II Pitera Essence Limited Edition is our biggest art collaboration yet. With this collection we are pushing the boundaries of pop culture to connect with our consumers through aspects in life they value, like art and a meaningful purpose. We hope that it will give everyone the confidence to broadcast their beauty this holiday season with crystal clear skin."
The bottles of the limited editions boast a bold, iconic technicolor print that is a signature of "Andy Warhol T.V." -- a broadcast medium that the American artist loved to experiment with in his pop art.

The three versions feature Warhol's encouraging quotes: "All is pretty", "If everybody is not a beauty, then nobody is", or "I've never met a person I wouldn't call a beauty".
The prolific artist passed away in 1987, the same year the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts was established.
"The Andy Warhol X SK-II Pitera Essence Limited Edition series celebrates Warhol's inclusive view that everybody is a beauty. Warhol's non-conformist spirit is brought to life in this distinctive collaboration with SK-II, blurring the lines between art, mass media, and commerce,'' said Michael Dayton Hermann, director of licensing, marketing and sales at The Andy Warhol Foundation."
The project will support the foundation's philanthropic work, he added, and its ongoing efforts to support artists in all communities, including those that are often marginalised.

The Pitera Essence Limited Edition comes in a gift set with an Andy Warhol TV inspired pouch made from ECONYL regenerated nylon, an infinitely recyclable sustainable yarn made from ocean and landfill nylon waste like abandoned fishing nets.
Also called Facial Treatment Essence, Pitera Essence contains over 90% Pitera -- SK-II's exclusive and naturally derived ingredient obtained from a proprietary fermentation process of a unique yeast strain. The resulting clear liquid is rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids that work together to help rejuvenate the skin.
The research and development was inspired by observations of how Japanese sake brewers had soft and youthful hands compared to their wrinkled faces. In December 1980, the launch of the Facial Treatment Essence, dubbed as Miracle Water, led to a new category of nutrient-infused liquids, integral to an anti-ageing skincare routine.
The bottles are redesigned to celebrate the Chinese New Year, springtime, festive season and other occasions. Often the inspiration comes from art, ranging from traditional suminagashi (a Japanese "floating ink" technique for printing on water) to street art and the latest with colourful pop art.
