Data analytics firm Purple Wifi has announced it has acquired a US wayfinding business in a majority stock deal.
The Manchester-headquartered firm, which allows businesses to monitor customers’ shopping patterns for targeted messaging, said Ohio-based LogicJunction will join under the Purple brand.
The acquisition of LogicJunction, which provides indoor mapping and navigation services to organisations, will “enhance the Purple portfolio”, it said, allowing the tech firm to bolster its “intelligent spaces” proposition.
Gavin Wheeldon, Purple chief executive, said LogicJunction “will compliment Purple’s offering” and “take us further on the journey in creating intelligent spaces, as well as growing both our UK, European and US presence”.
“As architectural environments become more complicated and as consumer needs shift to more personalisation, indoor positioning and location-based are becoming core to organisations across every industry.
“Our existing customers across multiple sectors, including airports, malls, department stores, stadiums, healthcare and other large venues, will all benefit from the addition of a best-in-class wayfinding solution.”
Mark Jowell, LogicJunction chief executive, said the merger will enable them to offer the “combined power of indoor navigation and advanced data analytics”.
