PureGym looking to open new branch at Sainsbury's on Colwick Loop Road

The country's largest gym chain is looking to open another branch at a Nottinghamshire supermarket. The gym chain, which is the biggest in the UK, would be allowed to display its logo and branding on part of the Sainsbury's store on Colwick Loop Road, if approved by Gedling Borough Council.

Despite this suggesting a new branch will soon open at the site, PureGym said it was not in a position to comment at the moment. Should permission be given by the council, the brand would be able to display its a new branded and illuminated sign from part of Sainsbury's building.

PureGym has a number of facilities across Nottinghamshire, with branches in Basford, Castle Marina, West Bridgford and Beeston. The Sainsbury's itself is a relatively new addition to the area, having opened in November 2021.

A builders' merchant, a branch of MKM building supplies, is also set to be set up on a patch of derelict land in front of the Sainsbury's off the A612 Colwick Loop Road. Work is also progressing on the Teal Park trade park next to the Rivendell housing estate nearby.

Hundreds of homes are being built at the huge Rivendell estate, between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph, along with a new school. Plans to do with the signs for the gym have been submitted to Gedling Borough Council.
