Purdue transfer, former 4-star WR Maliq Carr officially commits to Michigan State football

Michigan State football has made another big splash in the NCAA transfer portal, and it’s also going to benefit Tom Izzo and the basketball team. On Friday, dual sport athlete and former four-star wide receiver, Maliq Carr, announced he is officially transferring from Purdue to MSU.

Carr is expected to play both football and basketball, making him the second dual-sport athlete Tom Izzo will have, joining Keon Coleman, saving him a scholarship while still getting a high-caliber athlete on his roster.

Carr is from Oak Park, Michigan, and was the 175th-ranked player in the 2020 class. He played sparingly as a reserve last year for Purdue, catching one pass for 15 yards against Iowa on Oct. 24.
