Puppy mowed down by hit-and-run driver in Falkirk in front of horrified onlookers

An eight-month-old puppy has died after a hit and run in Grangemouth.

German Shepard pup Moca was struck by a vehicle at Inchyra Roundabout, just off the A904 at around 11:10pm on Friday night.

Horrified onlookers said the driver failed to stop at the scene.

Cops are now hunting the hit-and-run motorist.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened and are appealing for dashcam footage.

Locals have taken to social media to express their disgust.

One said: "What an absolute ratbag."

Another wrote: "I hope karma comes to this person very, very soon.

"I hope they didn't sleep last night."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of an incident where a dog was struck by a car at Inchyra Roundabout in Grangemouth around 11.10pm on Friday, February 19.

"The vehicle did not stop at the scene and the dog has since succumbed to its injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
