Pupils self isolating at Gilmerton Primary after positive coronavirus case confirmed

A selection of people at Gilmerton Primary School are now self-isolating after a positive coronavirus case was confirmed at the school.

In a letter seen by Edinburgh Live, parents have been informed that an individual in the school has been confirmed to have the virus, with track and trace now in place.

However, the majority of pupils have been told to attend school as normal unless they have been contacted by the NHS Lothian Health Protection team.

NHS Lothian have also stated that they believe the case "was not infectious" when they were in the school.

Parents have also been advised to book a Covid-19 test if their child is showing a temperature, loss of taste or smell or a continuous cough.
