Punters rack up enormous bill in Irish pub after 'going for a few quiet ones'

A ‘quiet’ drinking session with a group of friends has ended with a gargantuan alcohol bill that would be enough to give anyone ‘the fear’.

The group of thirsty punters racked up a bill of £581 after heading out for “a few quiet ones”.

Pints were not the only order in the heavy session, which included shots of Jagermeister and Tequila all before close.

With pubs opening back up since lockdown, most would admit to indulging on their first big night.

However, this group of guzzlers would put anyone’s efforts to the test, as their enormous bill attests to.

A video of the receipt showed the party had been dining at the popular Railway Bar on the Dublin Road in Drogheda, Co Louth, on Saturday, August 28.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, with TikTok user thatamariano adding the caption: “Come for a ‘few quiet ones’..”

Coors, Moretti, Jagermeister, Tequila, Caralsberg, Heineken, Bulmers as well as a staggering amount of Guinness were all on the tab, according to the Irish Mirror.

And it looked to be a liquid lunch, as there was not a crumb of food to be spotted on the gargantuan bill.

In all, the group racked up a whopping total of €679.90 before the pub was forced to stop serving at 11.30pm.
