Punters are also backing Normal People heartthrob Paul Mescal to replace Daniel Craig as his odds were slashed in half into 20/1 from 40/1.

Another Dubliner fancied to take up the mantle of playing the world famous MI6 spy is Poldark star Aidan Turner at 10/1.

Colin Farrell is 100/1 while UFC star and Man with the Golden Gums Conor McGregor is much bigger at 200/1.

Sarah Kinsella, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “There are plenty of Irish stars fancied to replace Daniel Craig and play the new James Bond, but the biggest support arrived today for Barry Keoghan.

"The Dubliner is 100/1 from 200/1 while Paul Mescal is much shorter at 20/1, tumbling from 40/1.”
