Punter misses out on £238k as Greg Kiltie says sorry for busting 18-fold accumulator

An unlucky punter has missed out on the win of a lifetime after Morton snatched a 1-1 draw against Ayr United .

The 18-fold accumulator just needed the Honest Men to win for the football fan to scoop an eye-watering £237,907.15 return.

The plucky gambler watched Watford defeat Fulham and just needed Ayr to hold on against struggling Morton.

But disaster struck as Greg Kiltie, on loan from Kilmarnock , netted an equaliser and his £5 free bet was down the drain.

Kiltie even took to social media after the game to offer his condolences to the unnamed bettor.

He said: "I'm gutted for the boy I really am.

"That is soul destroying for them, I'm not gonna lie."
