
As Captain Amarinder Singh took over as chief minister, the Congress government of Punjab on Thursday transferred several officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) and Punjab Police Service (PPS). Among the prominent ones were IPS officers Gaurav Yadav, who is now additional director general of police (ADGP), administration, Dinkar Gupta as ADGP, intelligence; Naunihal Singh as inspector general (IG), border zone; and Naresh Arora as IG, crime.
Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh is the new commissioner of police, Ludhiana; Nilabh Kishore, IG, special task force; and Jatinder Singh Aulakh, IG, law and order. The government also transferred Ranbir Singh Khatra as DIG, administration, India Reserve Battalion, Patiala.
The following IPS officers were posted as senior superintendents of police (SSP): Alka Meena (Fatehgarh Sahib), Baljot Singh Rathore (Muktsar), Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (Jalandhar Rural), Surjeet Singh (Ludhiana), Vivek Sheel Soni (Pathankot) and Jagadale Nilambari Vijay (Rupnagar).
Other IPS officers who got new postings are Gurpreet Singh Toor as AIG, counter-intelligence, Ludhiana, Dhrumam H Nimbale, DCP, Ludhiana; and Sukhminder Singh, AIG, state special operations cell, Amritsar.
PPS officers who were appointed as SSP are Sandeep Goel (Moga), Bhupinderjit Singh (Gurdaspur), Parambir Singh Parmar (Mansa), Raj Jeet Singh (Khanna), Sushil Kumar (Barnala), Sandeep Kumar Sharma (Kapurthala) and Satinder Singh (vigilance bureau, Jalandhar).
