NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a sensational three-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in a thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
With this win, Punjab Kings have now chased down targets of 200 or more on the highest number of occasions in IPL history. They have accomplished this feat six times in the T20 tournament.
Following closely behind, the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have successfully chased targets of 200 or more on five occasions. Meanwhile, both Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won three matches each after successfully chasing down targets of 200 or more.

Recapping the match, Shubman Gill delivered a stellar performance, notching up the highest individual score of the IPL 2024 with an unbeaten 89 runs. His outstanding innings, coupled with a quick cameo from Rahul Tewatia, who scored 23 runs off just 8 deliveries, propelled Gujarat Titans to a formidable total of 199/4 in the first inning.
In response, Punjab Kings showcased a remarkable batting display, led by Shashank Singh's explosive innings, where he remained unbeaten on 61 runs, supported by Ashutosh's contribution of 31 runs. Their impactful performances led Punjab Kings to a memorable victory.
Following this victory, the Punjab-based franchise currently occupies the fifth position in the IPL 2024 standings, securing four points. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans find themselves in the sixth position, also with four points to their name.
