CHANDIGARH: Punjab governor-cum-UT administrator Banwarilal Purohit will hold his first meeting with UT adviser Dharam Pal and senior officials to discuss key projects on Thursday morning and meet members of Administrator’s Advisory Council (AAC) at Hotel Mountview in the evening.
Sources said pending proposal of reshuffling of departments will be discussed with Pal and accordingly departments changed in a day or two. Pal has already reviewed the functioning of these officials.
If sources are to be believed, the administration will give more departments to officials who have delivered results. There are many officials, who are handling many departments, whereas some only one or two departments.
Recently, new MC commissioner Anindita Mitra has joined the administration. Similarly, PCS officer Palika Arora will join the administration in coming days. Some of the HCS and PCS officers are likely to be repatriated to their parent state of Haryana and Punjab. Home secretary Arun Kumar Gupta also relieved and his charge was given to finance secretary Vijay Namdeorao Zade.
