JALANDHAR: Gujarat Congress acting president and AICC’s national observer for Punjab elections, Hardik Patel has said that Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP were still together in the assembly elections in Punjab while Aam Aadmi Party is working as BJP’s "B team".
Addressing a press conference in Jalandhar, Patel said that in BJP-ruled states people were not even allowed to protest and repression was unleashed on them.
"In Gujarat, their government suppressed our agitation and even killed our people. Congress has been allowing agitations as it is democratic right of the people," he said.
Asked about his take on BJP’s position in Punjab, he said, "Akali Dal is still with them and their B team AAP is also working here."
However, he did not elaborate further.
Punjab sports minister Pargat Singh and other leaders also flanked him in the press conference.
