CHANDIGARH: One of the twodeputy chief ministers of Punjab, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, assumed charge of his office on Tuesday. His office is on the second floor of the Punjab civil secretariat, close to the chief minister’s office.
Chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also present on the occasion, along with other Congress MLAs. Randhawa reiterated that the state government would “always be available for serving the people of Punjab in true sense and would also strive to bring governance to the doorsteps of all the sections of the society”.
He announced that from now on cabinet meetings will be held every Wednesday.
The deputy chief minister said the state government would stand by the farmers “who are the driving force behind the economy of the state”. He would serve the people of the state and discharge all his responsibilities in a dedicated and diligent manner, he assured the people of the state.
Others present on the occasion were former cabinet members Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria and Manpreet Singh Badal and Randhawa’s family members.
