CHANDIGARH: Reacting “sharply” at the Punjab governor Banwarilal Purohit's remarks about the absence of Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann at the President's event in Chandigarh on Saturday, state cabinet minister Aman Arora said that it is “very unfortunate” on the part of governor for making it a political issue from the stage of the Raj Bhawan.
Arora said that CM Mann's event (in Gujarat) was scheduled, and he had deputed him to receive and welcome President Draupadi Murmu during her visit to Chandigarh.
He said that he along with five other cabinet ministers and all senior bureaucrats attended the event to celebrate Air Force Day. However, the Governor still made the unfortunate remarks against the CM, he added.
Arora urged the governor to restrain from making such statements in the future.
