AMRITSAR: Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey was brought to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital (GNDH) in Amritsar from Kapurthala jail after he complained of pain in the chest.
GNDH medical superintendent Dr KD Singh said that Honey was brought to the hospital with some cardiac issues.
“We had conducted echocardiography and advised medicine accordingly,“ he said.
In the recent past, the sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate had conducted a raid at the residence of Honey in an alleged illegal sand mining case and recovered around Rs 10 crore, gold, Rolex watch etc.
After medical treatment, Honey was sent back to Kapurthala jail, said the MS.
Sources said that earlier on Sunday, Honey was taken to Kapurthala Civil Hospital for medical treatment but was advised to undergo a cardiac checkup at Amritsar following which he was admitted to GNDH.
