CHANDIGARH: Punjab cabinet minister Laljit Singh Bhullar landed in a controversy after a video of him purportedly sitting on the roof of a moving SUV surfaced online.
In the undated video, Bhullar can be seen sitting on the rooftop while his two security personnel were seen hanging out of the SUV, which appeared to be moving at a high speed.
Bhullar holds charge of the transport ministry which is responsible for taking measures for controlling road accidents. Interestingly, while chairing the recently held meeting of the Punjab State Road Safety Council, Bhullar had asked the officials to take strict measures to reduce the fatality of road accidents by 50%. Terming it the height of foolishness on the part of a person holding the responsible constitutional post of a minister, Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira said: “This is what happens when people elect such minions blindly without analyzing their qualities. ”
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their claim of ending VIP culture. “ Shameful conduct of @AAPPunjab. Transport min Laljit Singh Bhullar. He is violating traffic rules & allegedly risking his life along with security men while sitting at the Sunroof of his car. See Security around him!! What happened to your talks of ending VIP Culture (Sic),” he tweeted.
