CHANDIGARH: After Navjot Singh Sidhu’s firm message to the party to "choose between him and the compromised officers", a meeting of the cabinet has been called on Tuesday and the issue of the advocate general (AG) is likely to be taken up in a bid to placate Sidhu.
Sources said AICC in-charge Harish Choudhary spoke to Channi and Sidhu separately and then had a joint meeting to work out a compromise formula to defuse the growing tension in the state unit.
Sidhu’s grouse has been that the AG and DGP had not been replaced despite repeated assurances from the CM, added sources. Pargat Singh too is believed to have played a role in finding a "middle path" to resolve the issue.
