PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) recorded zero death due to Covid-19 infection for the ninth straight day on Monday, with its day’s tally also dropping to its lowest of 74. The region had recorded 91 cases on Sunday.
Of the 74 new cases, the rural areas recorded 53, followed by the Pune municipal limits (19) and the Pimpri Chinchwad area (2). Currently, there are 1,048 active Covid patients in PMR. Of them, 78 are undergoing care at different hospitals.
The number of recoveries stood at 68 in PMR on Monday. With this, PMR’s progressive tally of positive cases has increased above 14.53 lakh, while its recoveries have reached 14.32 lakh.
A report released by district administration stated that 5,452 samples were checked in the region in the last 24 hours. Day’s positivity rate for the PMR stood at 1.35%.
