PUNE: The GG International School campus, Pimpri branch, was abuzz with the presence of eminent personalities, distinguished speakers and experienced educators on February 5. The Guruvarya Awards ceremony coincided with Basant Panchami, resulting in the programme being started with a Saraswati Puja, followed by a Guru Naman song.
First, principal Bharti Bhagwani enlightened everyone about the journey of the Guruvarya Awards. The Goel Ganga Foundation then felicitated five awardees under five different categories, including ‘Benchmark activities of the school’, which was given to SwatiSmita Mishra; ‘Educational initiatives for upliftment of children in rural areas’ was given to Balaji Baburao Jadhav; ‘Excellence in sports’ to Samiran Kolhe; ‘Excellence in philanthropic activities as a school’ given to Advocate Vrushali J Datar; and ‘Student mentoring’ was given to Rajnikant Sukhsham Mendhe.
Teachers who successfully completed 10 years of service at GGIS were also felicitated.
