PUNE: An exhibition showcasing the art work of the Pune Municipal Corporation employees is being held at the Balgandharva Rangmandir Kaladalan on JM Road from February 15 to 16.
Additional commissioner of PMC Dnyaneshwar Molak said, “The Pune Municipal Cultural Arts Forum organises an exhibition every year where all staffers get to showcase their creative side and garner appreciation for their work, outside their day job. This year, many have given vent to their experience of the pandemic, paid tributes to Covid warriors, such as frontline workers and medical professionals, and also famous personalities who passed away during this period.”
Nisha Chauhan, chief law officer, PMC, a participant at the exhibition, said, “None of us are professional artists, but we are all passionate about art and take it up in our free time as a kind of stress buster. This exhibition, which is being organised annually for the last 30 years, is a chance for us to display and appreciate the work of each other.”
Some employees have displayed around 50 woodcraft pieces. Another employee combined her love for cooking and photography by preparing various dishes and clicking photographs of them. Four 4D and 3D murals made by staffers are on display at the exhibition, inaugurated by mayor Murlidhar Mohol.
