Pundits predict Manchester United vs Huddersfield - and choose same result for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side

Manchester United have just two games remaining in a season that has been a rollercoaster ride for the Red Devils but there is still plenty to play for.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side can still secure a top-four finish and Champions League football next season but they must beat Huddersfield Town and need Chelsea not to beat Watford in their clash.

Unfortunately, a trio of pundits don’t believe Old Trafford will enjoy Europe's premier competition next season as they predict United will secure a comfortable victory against an already-relegated Huddersfield side but also expect Chelsea to edge past Watford.

A top-four finish is out of United’s hands but a victory against the Terriers is very much expected. You can see what the pundits had to say about Solskjaer’s side below.

Mark Lawrenson - 2-0 United (BBC)

Manchester United should win their last two games against Huddersfield and Cardiff, but I don't think it will be enough to get them in the top four.

Having said that, the Terriers had a spell at Anfield last Friday where they were 1-0 down but looked dangerous. For once this season, I looked at them and thought they had something about them.

I think Huddersfield will give United a game, especially because this is their final Premier League home game for the foreseeable future after two years in the top flight. From that point of view, it will be a big occasion. They will relish playing a big team like United and they will not want to sign off in front of their home fans without showing a bit of a fight.

Huddersfield beat United here last season too, so that is another reason they will fancy themselves, but I still think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will leave with the points.

Paul Merson - 4-0 United (Sky Sports)

I remember last year - but Manchester United will win this comfortably. Anything less than 4-0 is disappointing. You're playing a team who can't win for toffee, look out of their depth, and surely United should have the ammunition to rip them to shreds.

They can't put it together for a 90 minutes though. They huffed and puffed last weekend, that's not the Manchester United I remember.

Michael Owen - United win (BetVictor)

United have failed to win any of their last four games but I can’t see them slipping up at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Terriers have only scored nine home league goals this term and no side in top-flight history has failed to reach double figures.

I thought United improved on their performances of recent weeks at home to Chelsea last weekend and they must pick up maximum points in West Yorkshire if they are to have any chance of reaching the top four. Their destiny is out of their own hands but all they can do is pick up maximum points in their last couple of games.
