Pundits make their Man City vs Leicester predictions

Manchester City's grueling start to the season will continue on Sunday with a potentially tricky fixture against Leicester City.

Despite enduring a disrupted and truncated pre-season, City have made a 100 per cent start to their campaign with an impressive victory over Wolves in the Premier League before overcoming Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup with a very youthful side.

Although Leicester were knocked out of the League Cup themselves in mid-week against Arsenal, they've had a very positive start to the league season with two high scoring victories - 3-0 against West Brom and 4-2 against Burnley.

The Blues defeated Leicester twice last season and they will be hoping to keep that run, and their strong start to the season, going at the Etihad.

Here's how the pundits think the game will go...

Michael Owen, BetVictor

"Manchester City got their new campaign off to a winning start against Wolves and once again it looks like Kevin de Bruyne is going to be their main man this season. With Sergio Aguero set to be sidelined for a number of weeks, Pep Guardiola will have been delighted to see Gabriel Jesus on the scoresheet and I fancy that he could be a surprise contender for Golden Boot winner come the end of the season.

"Leicester have started the season well but, as manager Brendan Rodgers pointed out after their recent 4-2 win over Burnley, nobody should be getting too carried away with how the Premier League table looks after two games.

"Manchester City will be desperate to ensure they don’t allow a big gap to open up between themselves and their title rivals and I see them winning this one with a comfortable 4-1 scoreline."

Prediction: Manchester City 4-1 Leicester City

Mark Lawrenson, BBC

"Manchester City got the job done against Wolves on Monday, in what was a tricky opener for them.

"Leicester have won two out of two so far but the injured Wilfred Ndidi is going to be a big miss for them at the back, where he has been filling in for them."

Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Leicester City
