Liverpool kick off their year with a trip to the south coast to take on Southampton.
The Reds face the Saints in the Premier League at St Mary's on Monday (January 4, 8pm kick-off) as they look to start 2021 on a positive note.
Jurgen Klopp's men are currently top of table after taking 33 points from their opening 16 fixtures.
They rounded off 2020 with a goalless draw away to Newcastle United on Wednesday (December 30).
Southampton, meanwhile, ended the year ninth in the table - seven points behind Liverpool.
They also saw out 2020 with a 0-0 stalemate - at home to West Ham United.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen is backing the Reds to run out 3-1 winners at Southampton.
"Liverpool arrive here after dropping four points in their last two matches," said Owen in his latest BetVictor blog.
"They come up against a Southampton side that have also drawn successive matches, both ending 0-0.
"It was great to see Thiago returning from injury against Newcastle. I think he’s a wonderful player and will just get better and better.
"With that in mind, I think Liverpool will have enough here.
"Southampton simply aren’t scoring enough goals at the moment and I could see the Reds winning this one comfortably."
Another former Liverpool man - BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson - agrees with Owen, and is predicting a 2-1 victory for Klopp's side.
"I always feel like Southampton are better on the road, but their home form is decent too - the fifth best in the Premier League in fact," said Lawrenson.
"Liverpool have not been great away this season but I just have a feeling they will get back to winning ways on the south coast."
