Pundits deliver the same prediction for Man United vs Spurs

Tottenham travel to Manchester United this evening for an important match for many different reasons.

Spurs have won back to back Premier League games to rise up to sixth in the top tier and now face a United team who are also looking to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.

But there is also the little matter of Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford after he was sacked by United last December.

Mourinho is now back in the Premier League after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs and he has overseen three wins in all competitions.

The test is much tougher this evening though at United and two prominent pundits are not back Mourinho's side to pull off a victory.

However, both former Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas and Liverpool great Michael Owen are still predicting Tottenham to earn a draw in Manchester.

"I might be wrong but we have a Tottenham team that are three weeks ago would have gone with their heads down - a draw will have delighted them and left them relatively pleased, but Man Utd are there for the taking if Tottenham want it," Nicholas told Sky Sports.

"It is strange how things come up. Tottenham are the favourites at Old Trafford. They do not get results against the big teams, but United nowhere near at the moment. I think United will be upbeat for this one as if they have a point to prove, so it will be interesting. Jose will fancy the job though."

Nicholas has predicted a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford while Owen also expecting the contest to be a goals scoring draw.

"United shared four goals and the points with Villa on Sunday and it would not surprise me if we saw a similar result midweek when Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford for the first time since being sacked as United manager 12 months ago," Owen told BetVictor.

"Both teams have scored and conceded in their last four games while Spurs have shipped two goals in all three fixtures since the Portuguese boss replaced Mauricio Pochettino in north London. It promises to be a terrific occasion and one I see finishing with honours even."
