Pundits all make same prediction about Liverpool ahead of Arsenal

In what is arguably the most anticipated game of the new Premier League season so far, Liverpool face Arsenal on Monday evening.

The Reds have got their Premier League title defence off to a perfect start, with two wins from their opening two matches but they face a tough test against a resurgent Arsenal side on Monday.

Mikel Arteta has turned the Gunners' form around since taking charge last December and he led them to a penalty shootout win over Liverpool in the Community Shield last month.

Yet, this time around, pundits are unanimous in predicting win or Jurgen Klopp's men.

Here is what they say.

Mark Lawrenson, BBC Sport

"Thiago Alcantara came into the Liverpool side for his debut against Chelsea and bossed things without even having a sweat on. He looked quite a player.

"I'd expect the Reds to dominate possession in this game too, and I still worry about Arsenal when they don't have the ball.

"Yes, the Gunners beat Liverpool in July, but that was just after Jurgen Klopp's side had clinched the title.

"I wouldn't take anything from that game as a suggestion Arsenal could do it again because Liverpool were not playing at anything like 100%. They will be this time, though."

Prediction: 2-0 to Liverpool

Michael Owen, Bet Victor

"Both teams have shown a vulnerability in defence so far this season and I see that trend continuing on Monday night.

"Historically, fixtures between these two sides have resulted in goals aplenty and I don’t see that changing this time around.

"I’m going for a memorable game, full of attacking threat, and a 3-2 victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men."

Dimitar Berbatov, The Metro

"I’m looking forward to this, it should be a great game.

"We’ll see what Arsenal have to offer. Liverpool have been impressive, and Thiago coming in is huge for them, he is top class.

" I will go for Liverpool here , as their front three is just too strong for most teams, and Arsenal still need to improve in defence."
