Pundits agree with their predictions for Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Manchester United's gruelling end-of-season run-in continues on Sunday as they face a trip to Aston Villa.

After travelling to Italy to face Roma in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday, the Reds now face a run of three Premier League games in just five days as they follow up the trip to Villa with home matches against Leicester City and Liverpool.

It means Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may well look to shuffle his pack in the coming week in order to make sure players are fresh and avoid injury ahead of the Europa League final against Villarreal at the end of the month.

With that in mind, here is what pundits are predicting for the game.

Mark Lawrenson - BBC

"Following the second leg of their Europa League semi-final with Roma on Thursday, this is the second of four games in eight days for Manchester United.

"But their squad is big enough to deal with that schedule and, other than their top two or three players - like Bruno Fernandes for example - the difference between their first and second choices in each position is not very big.

"Aston Villa are no pushovers, as they showed with their win at Everton last time out, but United should deliver, whatever team they put out."

Prediction: Aston Villa 0 Man United 2

Michael Owen - BetVictor

"Many a classic has been played down the years between these two at Villa Park. Can you believe that Villa’s last win against United at home was back in 1995?

"So, with that in mind, it’s fair to say this is a happy hunting ground for the Red Devils. What’s more, the visitors arrive here undefeated in their last 24 away games in the Premier League.

"Both these sides have been excellent on the counter this season, and when sides that play that way meet, it can often result in a cagey affair.

"I’m thinking this one could be just like that, although I do believe United have enough to take the points."

Prediction: Aston Villa 0 Man United 1

Dimitar Berbatov - The Metro

No surprise but I’ll go for United in this one.

"Ole’s men are riding high at the moment, but I want to see them maintain the second position in the league.

"Aston Villa are playing for nothing which can lead to a drop in motivation."

Prediction: Aston Villa 0 Man United 3
