Pundits agree with Roy Keane and send warning to Harry Maguire over England celebration

Harry Maguire has been warned that the media will 'bide their time' to take aim at the Manchester United captain once again.

Having come under heavy pressure at Old Trafford and beyond amid below-par results and performances, Maguire set the ball rolling for impressive England last night.

Indeed, he powered home an early header as the vibrant Three Lions lit up Wembley.

Manchester City target Harry Kane took centre stage with a hat-trick - taking his international tally to 44 goals from only 66 caps - while Jordan Henderson was also on target in a 5-0 victory.

Maguire caught the eye and drew more criticism with a suggestive celebration that he defended post-match.

The 28-year-old United man slid on his knees beneath the famous arch at Wembley, first cupping his ears and then covering them up with each hand.

Pundit and former United captain Roy Keane slammed Maguire for his 'embarrassing' moment.

That stance has been replicated by Lee Dixon and Ian Wright - who were also part of the ITV Sport team last night - and the latter has warned the defender about what will come next.

Dixon said: "I think when he looks back at it with the headlines, the back pages will have that picture.

"When he looks back at it he will be disappointed that he's done that. Ultimately, he's frustrated and he's had a big relief and scoring a goal, it was superb service and on a plate for him. He gets ahead of his marker and he can't miss that header.

What did you think about Maguire's celebration? Have your say in the comments section below.

"The euphoria and what he's gone through at club level boiled over a little bit. He won't relish seeing this again."

Wright added: "When you look at how Man United are playing at the moment and how vulnerable they are, you have to say... to dig the press out like that.

"They wait for their time. It's not like they're [United] playing unbelievable stuff where you think he's going to be fine from now. They will bid their time."
